Frequently asked questions

Real answers to what people ask before they book a call. If something here doesn’t cover it, the first call is on David.

  • How long does career coaching with David usually take?

Engagements range from a single Compass Check to a ten-meeting Full Navigation Series, depending on where you are. Most clients land in the three-to-six meeting range when they're working through a real transition. Each meeting builds on the last, so the work compounds.

  • Do you work with clients remotely or in person?

Most coaching happens by phone or video call so you can fit it around your schedule. David is based in Buffalo, NY, and works with clients across the United States. For Buffalo-area clients, in-person is also an option.

  • What kinds of professionals do you work with?

Mostly experienced professionals with 15 to 25 years of career behind them. People considering a pivot, recovering from a layoff, or stepping into a leadership role. The common thread is that they want a real plan and a steady partner.

  • How is career coaching different from therapy or consulting?

Therapy looks backward to understand patterns. Consulting tells you what to do. Coaching sits in the middle. You keep the steering wheel, and David helps you see what you've got, name what you actually want, and build a plan you can execute. The work is practical and forward-facing.

  • What does the first complimentary call cover?

Thirty minutes on the phone. We'll talk about where you are, what you've already tried, and what you actually want from a transition. By the end you'll know whether working together makes sense and which package would fit. No pressure either way.

  • How do your packages compare?

Four packages, priced so larger ones lower the per-session cost. Compass Check is one meeting at $125, for a single decision. Clarity Course is three meetings at $350, for exploring a pivot. Momentum Journey is six meetings at $700, the depth-of-coaching sweet spot for most transitions. Full Navigation Series is ten meetings at $1,150, for ongoing partnership through a full career change.

  • How quickly will I see results from coaching?

Most clients leave the first paid meeting with a clearer head and a concrete next step. Bigger outcomes like landing a new role or finishing a pivot take however long the change actually takes. David won't promise a timeline he can't control. The weekly cadence keeps progress visible.

  • What if I'm not sure I'm ready for a coach?

Start with the complimentary call. It's a no-cost way to find out. If the timing isn't right, David will say so. If you want to start with one focused conversation before committing to a package, the Compass Check is built for exactly that.

  • How is your approach different from other career coaches?

Twenty-five years inside Fortune 500 HR at Delaware North, BlackRock, and Morgan Stanley means David has been on the hiring side of every conversation you're going into. He's also been through corporate downsizing himself, so the work is grounded in lived experience.
